Join us for "Soul Suppers"--Midweek Nourishment for Body and Soul
Wednesdays, 6 p.m., March 12th-April 9th (and maybe beyond), Fellowship Hall
$5 per person. RSVP below.
FPC Milton sees the pressures families are under to get food on the table--cost, time, energy. We see how parents scramble week after week to make sure children get to ALL the activities they're involved in. We see the increasing isolation and loneliness that has become epidemic in our culture (whether we're surrounded by people or not); we see and hear the craving for conversation and connection deeper than the usual "how are yous" in our task-oriented world. We think we're ALL craving a no-pressure, midweek time to be ourselves, and be fed--body and soul. Isn't that what Jesus did with the disciples--sat down at table?
That's how we see Soul Suppers--this midweek break from the pressure of buying groceries, deciding what to make for dinner, putting it on the table in a hurry for the next thing, cleaning it up (or feeling bad that you didn't); a midweek check-in with people you don't have to pretend for or produce for; some brief, but deep soulful reflection.
We know you remember Love and Lights yumminess! Well guess who's cooking Soul Suppers? Yep! Chef Chris is at it again--only this time with laidback, inexpensive, family favorites.
If you're a mom and craving connection, join MomCom (A community of moms) before dinner at 5 p.m. and stay for supper if you like.
Craving creative expression? Stay after dinner and learn some soulful music with our developing choir. What's more joyful and cathartic than singing?
Craving deep conversation and healing? Join us for "Lord, Give Me Courage", our Lenten community discussion about religious trauma.
