We hope you all have a blessed and safe Memorial Day!
We remember the brave men and women who have given their lives throughout our country's history to protect us from danger and harm. We remember all those who sustained injury in mind and/or body in the course of their service. We salute all those who have served in our military. Thank you!
Today we welcomed a guest speaker from Santa Rosa Kids House. Thank you, Kelley, for visiting and sharing with us about the program!

Today we celebrate the Christian holy day known as Pentecost, the 50th day (seventh Sunday) following Easter Sunday. On this day, the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus, while they were celebrating the Feast of Weeks in Jerusalem. The symbols used to represent the Holy Spirit (also symbols of Pentecost), include flames, wind, God's breath, and a dove. This day marks the end of the Easter season.
Acts 2: 1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
We'd like to offer a special thanks to the 3 amigos for their help cleaning the church. Thank you, Daniel, Keith, and Thomas!
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Today we thank God for placing mothers and mother figures in our lives, who are images of grace, fierce love, tenderness, strength, wisdom, courage, humor and more. We wish everyone a blessed Mother's Day and many thanks to the love and hard work that mothers do.
On May 30th, a guest speaker from Santa Rosa Kids House will join us to discuss the services that they provide and how to prevent child abuse. Please come, and don't forget that we will be collecting infant materials until then. Thank you!

Christ Has Risen! While you and your loved ones are enjoying fun with springtime activities, such as egg hunts and coloring Easter eggs, don't forget to set aside a moment today to remember the purpose of this holiday. Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who saved us from our sins, and the end of Lenten season. We wish you and your loved ones a blessed Easter Sunday! Happy Easter from First Presbyterian Church!
Lord we lift our hearts to you. As the dawn breaks, may we carry the unity we share into every moment knowing that we are one with the risen Christ.
Lord, we lift our eyes to you. As the sunrises, may this moment stay with us, reminding us to look for the beautiful colours of promise in your word.
Lord, we lift our prayers to you. As the dew air falls, may we breathe this morning in and know that like the earth, you sustain us, keep us and work within us always.
And so, we lift our voices to you. We celebrate the greatest day in history, when Jesus rose from death, defeated darkness and bathed the world in stunning resurrection light. May we ever live to praise you!
Beautiful service today by Joanne Kublik!
On this day, we commemorate Jesus' crucifixion and death. We accept Christ's payment for sin. In return, He washes away our sins and restores our right standing with God. God's mercy and grace make salvation possible and we receive everlasting life through Christ. That is how the date coined the term "Good Friday."
