Intentional Prayer

How often do you take the time for intentional prayer?  To really communicate with God?  Prayer helps us grow and maintain our personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, much like conversation helps us grow and maintain our social relationships here on earth.   We often hear these days about how social media is actually making us "less social", that we are more inclined to post on Facebook or send text messages than we are to actually converse with one another.  If social media is having this effect on our relationships with people we can see, how is it affecting our relationship with God, whom we only know through faith?  The last time I checked, God didn't have a Facebook page, nor does He have a phone to receive text messages.  The only way to communicate with Him is through prayer.  Are we still making the time to speak to God and listen for his answers?  If not, then we are not nurturing the most important relationship of our lives.

So often I see requests for prayers on Facebook, and I can't help but wonder how many of the thousands of people who click "like" on such posts truly take the time for intentional prayer on the matter.  Do our Facebook friends really stop scrolling and clicking long enough to do this?  Or do they simply click "like" because they know it's expected of them?  Think about it the next time you see a prayer request on Facebook or anywhere else.  Stop what you're doing, quiet your mind, and communicate with God.  He's listening, and He wants to hear from you.

Please pray for my Spiritual growth. I want to be Holy in HIM. Also, I would like to ask God's blessings in my life. Thanks for your prayer.
