Who We Are

First Presbyterian Church/Milton is a growing space of love and acceptance, intentionally and unapologetically, born out of Jesus' ministry and his central message of God as love.

We seek to embrace in a culture that too often rejects and condemns.

We welcome all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and neuro-expressions with open arms.

We believe everyone has a part to play and a piece to offer and we know that sometimes that part is simply to receive.

In a world where loneliness has been declared epidemic and belonging is too often defined by who you have in common to hate, we seek every day to offer something different: true belonging within a loving community.

We believe that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe; that our knowledge of God and God’s purpose for humanity comes from our experience with the presence of God in our lives, the Bible, particularly what is revealed in the New Testament through the life of Jesus Christ; and that our salvation (justification) through Jesus is God’s generous gift to us and not the result of our own accomplishments.
What We Believe
We believe God does not sort. Does not exclude.
Does not look on any person without mercy.
At the core of Presbyterian beliefs are: the sovereignty of God, the presence and engagement of the Holy Spirit, the authority of Scripture, justification by grace through faith, and the priesthood of all believers.
We believe the church’s calling is not to grow itself but to heal what it can, that ministry begins where our gifts meet the world’s pain. We believe in the sanctity of marriage and do not regard the question of gender or sexual orientation as a relevant consideration in the matter. We embrace, not tolerate, but embrace, every congregant and those whom they love.
